Yoi.

1.        Look left. Step out to your left into hidari kokutsu dachi (left back stance), while performing a hidari tettsui otoshi-uke (left hammer downward block). By dropping into the low back stance, one adds acceleration to the downward blocking technique.

2.       Step into migi zenkutsu dachi (right forward stance), and perform a migi jun-zuki (right lunge punch). The unwinding of the body from the back stance into forward stance accelerates the lunge punch.

3.       Retract the right leg and turn to the right 180 degrees ending up in migi zenkutsu dachi, and perform a migi gandan barai. The downward block is accelerated by the forceful and fluid twisting of the hips from the previous stance.

4.      Draw the right foot in a half step and turn the hips to the left such that you are now in shizen hontai (normal natural stance) about 45-90 degrees to the left of your zenkutsu dachi, and pull your right fist into kamae. Perform migi age-zuki (right rising punch) then execute migi tettsui otoshi-uke (right hammer downward block), twisting the upper part of the body to the right about 30-45 degrees in order to add more power to the tettsui. The feet however remain in shizen hontai and the knees bend into each other slightly to allow the upper portion of the body to turn with more power, while the feet remain stationary. The idea here is that you are blocking two consecutive punches from your opponent; one that is at the jodan level, and the second to the chudan level.

5.       Step to the right into hidari zenkutsu dachi (left forward stance) while performing hidari jun-zuki (left lunge punch).

6.      Turn 90 degrees to the left into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform hidari gandan barai.

7.      Step into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform a migi age-uke (right upward block).

8.       Step into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform a hidari age-uke (left upward block).

9.       Step into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform a migi age-uke.KIAI.

10.   Turn 225 degrees to the left into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform hidari gandan barai.

11.   Step into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform migi jun-zuki.

12.  Turn 90 degrees to the right into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform migi gandan barai.

13.  Step into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform hidari jun-zuki.

14. Turn 45 degrees to the left into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform hidari gandan barai.

15.  Step forward into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform migi jun-zuki.

16. Step forward into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform hidari jun-zuki.

17. Step forward into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform migi jun-zuki.KIAI.

18.   Turn 225 degrees to the left into hidari nekoashi dachi (left cat stance), while blocking with the migi teisho uke (right palmer block). Place the left hand (palm up) over the right hand (palm down) in preparation for the nukite (spear hand) strike. This is an intermediate stance and should be immediately followed by the next stance.

19.   Step forward and twist the hips into kiba dachi (straddle stance), while performing a hidari nukite (left spear hand). A kiba dachi is also referred to as shikoashi (side viewing).

20. Step forward with the right, passing through migi nekoashi dachi (right cat stance), into migi juji dachi (right cross stance), while placing the right hand (palm up) over the left hand (palm down) in preparation for the nukite strike. This is an intermediate stance and should be immediately followed by the next stance.

21.  Twist the hips into kiba dachi, while performing a migi nukite (right spear hand thrust).

22. Turn 90 degrees to the right into migi nekoashi dachi, while blocking with the hidari teisho uke (left palmer block). Place the right hand (palm up) over the left hand (palm down) in preparation for the nukite strike. As before, this is an intermediate stance.

23. Step forward and twist the hips into kiba dachi, while performing a migi nukite.

24. Step forward with the left, passing through hidari nekoashi dachi, into hidari juji dachi (left cross stance), while placing the left hand (palm up) over the right hand (palm down) in preparation for the nukite strike. This is an intermediate stance and should be immediately followed by the next stance.

25. Twist the hips into kiba dachi, while performing a hidari nukite.

1.        Look left. Step out to your left into hidari kokutsu dachi (left back stance), while bringing the right hand to a protection form over the forehead and simultaneously performing a hidari jodan ude uke (left upper inside block). The upper arm is parallel to the ground and slightly above the forehead, while the left hand is perpendicular to the ground in a proper ude uke.

2.       While remaining in kokutsu dachi perform a migi otoshi uke (right downward block) while pulling the left hand back to the right ear.

3.       Draw the left foot in a half step so that you are in shizen hontai (normal natural stance), while performing a hidari chudan tetzuki (left middle hammer strike).

4.      Look right. Step out to your right into migi kokutsu dachi (right back stance), while bringing the left hand to a protection form over the forehead and simultaneously performing a migi jodan ude uke (right upper inside block).

5.       While remaining in kokutsu dachi perform a hidari otoshi uke (left downward block) while pulling the right hand back to the left ear.

6.      Draw the right foot in a half step so that you are in shizen hontai (normal natural stance), while performing a migi chudan tetzuki (right middle hammer strike).

7.      Twist your left foot in towards the right slightly while rotating the migi chudan tetzuki into a migi jodan ude uke and looking behind you. This is an intermediate stance and should be immediately followed by the following stance.

8.       Turning fully behind you, perform a migi mae geri keage (right front snap kick) and execute another migi jodan ude uke over the kicking leg.

9.       Rechamber the right leg and step left into migi juji dachi (right cross stance) while preparing to perform a hidari jodan shuto uke (left upper knife hand block).

10.   Step left into hidari kokutsu dachi while performing the hidari jodan shuto uke. The left arm should be vertical to the floor and the right arm should be palm up, above your belt at the solar plexus with fingers pointed to the elbow of the blocking arm.

11.   Step forward into migi kokutsu dachi while performing a migi jodan shuto uke.

12.  Step forward into hidari kokutsu dachi while performing a hidari jodan shuto uke.

13.  Step into migi zenkutsu dachi while performing a migi tate nukite (right vertical spear hand thrust).KIAI.

14. Turn 225 degrees to the left into hidari kokutsu dachi, while performing a hidari jodan shuto uke.

15.  Step into migi kokutsu dachi, continuing along the 45 degree line, while performing a migi jodan shuto uke.

19.   While maintaining the block, perform migi mae geri keage, then step into migi zenkutsu dachi while performing a hidari gyaku-zuki (left reverse punch).

20. Still in migi zenkutsu dachi, the stance is slightly shortened with the left hip dropped slightly and the left shoulder turned 45 degrees forward in order to anchor the body down even more while you perform a hidari jodan ude uke.

21.  While maintaining the block, perform hidari mae geri keage, then step into hidari zenkutsu dachi while performing a migi gyaku-zuki.

22. Step into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform migi jodan morote uke (right augmented upper inside block).KIAI.

23. Turn 225 degrees to the left into hidari zenkutsu dachi and perform a hidari gandan barai.

24. Step into migi zenkutsu dachi and perform migi age uke (right upward block).

1.        Look left. Turn 90 degrees to the left into hidari nekoashi dachi (left cat stance) while performing a hidari jodan ude uke (left upper inside block).

2.       Step forward a half step with the right into heisoku dachi (closed toes stance) while performing migi jodan ude uke (right upper inside block) and hidari gandan barai (left downward block) simultaneously.

3.       While remaining in heisoku dachi perform hidari jodan ude uke and migi gandan barai (right downward block) simultaneously.

4.      Turn 180 degrees to the right into migi nekoashi dachi (right cat stance) while performing a migi jodan ude uke.

6.      While remaining in heisoku dachi perform migi jodan ude uke and hidari gandan barai simultaneously.

7.      Turn 90 degrees to the left into hidari nekoashi dachi while performing a hidari jodan ude uke.

8.       Step into migi zenkutsu dachi (right forward stance) while performing a migi tate nukite (right vertical spear hand thrust).KIAI.

9.       Still in migi zenkutsu dachi, shorten up the stance into migi gyaku-nekoashi dachi (right reverse cat stance) while inverting the migi tate nukite 180 degrees to the left so that the palm now faces outward. The idea here is that your opponent has trapped the wrist of the nukite hand, and by inverting it you break the opponents grip.

10.   Turn 180 degrees to the left and lunge forward over the forward leg while pulling the now freed hand behind you. This is an escape maneuver after you have freed the trapped wrist.

11.   Turn 180 degrees to the left into kiba dachi (straddle stance) while performing hidari chudan yoko tettsui uchi (left middle sideward hammer strike). Now free, you have swung back around and delivered a counter attack to the opponents floating rib area.

12.  Step into migi zenkutsu dachi while performing migi chudan jun-zuki (right middle lunge punch).KIAI.

13.  Turn 180 degrees to the left by drawing your left foot to your right, and spin around into shizentai musubi dachi (natural attention stance), placing your fists onto your hips.

14. Step forward into migi juji dachi (right cross stance) then twist to the left into kiba dachi while performing a migi kote uke (right arm block) followed by a migi chudan yoko tettsui uchi (left middle sideward hammer strike e). Draw back the tettsui to the hip.

15.  Step forward into hidari juji dachi (left cross stance) then twist to the right into kiba dachi while performing a hidari kote uke (left arm block) followed by a hidari chudan yoko tettsui uchi. Draw back the tettsui to the hip.

16. Step forward into migi juji dachi then twist to the left into kiba dachi while performing a migi kote uke followed by a migi chudan yoko tettsui uchi. Hold out the tettsui.

17. Step into hidari zenkutsu dachi while performing hidari jodan jun-zuki (left upper lunge punch).KIAI.

18.   Draw the right foot forward into shizen hontai (normal natural stance) while maintaining the hidari jodan jun-zuki.

19.   Turn 180 degrees to the left by moving the left foot back past the right into shizen hontai while performing a simultaneous hidari enpai uchi (left elbow strike) to the rear (solar plexus) and a migi enpai uchi (right elbow strike) to the front.

20. Slide the feet to the right and perform simultaneously a migi enpai uchi to the rear (solar plexus) and a hidari enpai uchi to the front.

1.        Look left. Step out to your left into hidari kokutsu dachi (left back stance), while bringing the right hand to a protection form over the forehead, palm out, and simultaneously performing a hidari jodan haishu uke (left upper over-hand block). The upper arm is parallel to the ground and slightly above the forehead, while the left hand is perpendicular to the ground.

2.       Look right. Bring the left foot back in towards the right foot so that it is now in the same position that it started in. Turn the hands palm inwards, and step out to your right into migi kokutsu dachi (right back stance), driving the hands to the right with the left hand in a protection form over the forehead, palm out, and simultaneously performing a migi jodan haishu uke (right upper over-hand block).

3.       Looking forward, simultaneously step forward with the left foot and back with the right so that you assume a proper hidari zenkutsu dachi (left forward stance) while drawing back both hands to kamae. Now drive the fists out to perform juji uke (X-block), right over left.

4.      Step forward with the right into migi kokutsu dachi while performing a migi morote uke (right augmented block; one arm and fist support a migi ude uke) then draw the morote uke back towards the right ear and raising the right elbow up to approximately shoulder height. This is to block the side of the head in the event the punch is a mawashi-zuki (roundhouse punch).

5.       Bring the left foot forward and together with the right foot into heisoku dachi (closed toes stance) while bringing the right fist back to kamae and the left arm across the front of the body at chudan level in a ready position.

6.      Look left and simultaneously perform hidari gandan barai (left downward block) and hidari mae geri keage (left front snap kick).

7.      Step to the left, twisting the hips into hidari zenkutsu dachi while executing a migi yoko enpai uchi (right sideward elbow strike).

8.       Bring the right foot in towards the left into heisoku dachi so that you are now facing in the direction of the start of the kata, while bringing the left fist back to kamae and the right arm across the front of the body at chudan level in a ready position.

9.       Look right and simultaneously perform migi gandan barai (right downward block) and migi mae geri keage (right front snap kick).

10.   Step to the right, twisting the hips into migi zenkutsu dachi (right forward stance) while executing a hidari yoko enpai uchi (left sideward elbow strike).

11.   Look left and perform hidari harai te (left sweeping hand) while bringing the right hand to a protection form over the forehead, palm out. This is an intermediate stance and should be immediately followed by the following stance.

12.  Twist the hips to the left into yoko seishan dachi (sideward seishan stance) while simultaneously performing migi tenohira uke (right palmer block) and bringing the left hand to a protection form at the side of the head, palm out.

13.  Execute migi mae geri keage and lunge forward into migi gyaku nekoashi dachi (right reverse cat stance) while simultaneously performing hidari otoshi uke (left downward press block) and migi tate uraken uchi (right vertical backfist strike).KIAI. During this simultaneous hand movement, the left hand comes down from the protection form at the side of the head to press block the opponents punch or kick. As you are pressing downwards with the left, the right hand releases the arm and circularly comes up from underneath over the press block to execute the uraken. The left hand completes the press block and ends in kamae.

14. Turn 225 degrees to the left on the right foot into hidari nekoashi dachi (left cat stance) while performing a hidari jodan ude uke (left upper inside block).

15.  Placing weight onto the front foot, perform migi mae geri keage and step into migi zenkutsu dachi. Execute a migi jun-zuki (right lunge punch) then a hidari gyaku-zuki (left reverse punch).

16. Turn 90 degrees to the right on the left foot into migi nekoashi dachi (right cat stance) while performing a migi jodan ude uke (right upper inside block).

17. Placing weight onto the front foot, perform hidari mae geri keage and step into hidari zenkutsu dachi. Execute a hidari jun-zuki (left lunge punch) then a migi gyaku-zuki (right reverse punch).

18.   Step forward 45 degrees to the left into hidari kokutsu dachi while performing a hidari morote uke (left augmented block), then draw the morote uke back towards the left ear and raising the left elbow up to shoulder height.

19.   Step forward into migi kokutsu dachi while performing a migi morote uke, then draw the morote uke back towards the right ear and raising the right elbow up to shoulder height.

20. Step forward into hidari kokutsu dachi while performing a hidari morote uke, then draw the morote uke back towards the left ear and raising the left elbow up to shoulder height.

21.  Step up with the right foot into hidari gyaku nekoashi dachi (left reverse cat stance) while simultaneously performing kakiwake uke. This circular, double inside block is meant to break an opponents grasp on the front of your gi or shoulders.

22. Thrust the hands out to the jodan (upper) level as if to grasp the opponents head, then simultaneously pull down and out with the hands while executing migi hiza geri (right knee kick), thus striking the opponent in the face with the knee.KIAI. The hands should be out to the side and in fists.

23. Step across to the left with the right foot into migi juji dachi (right cross stance) while maintaining the arm position of the last movement.

24. Looking left, twist the hips around 135 degrees to the left into hidari kokutsu dachi while simultaneously performing hidari jodan kake uke (left upper hook block) and migi chudan otoshi uke (right middle downward press block). Pull the hands inwards so that the right palm heel rests near the knot of your belt while drawing the left leg inwards so that heels touch. The bunkai for this movement is to trap and lock the opponents arm.

25. Step out 90 degrees to the right into migi kokutsu dachi while simultaneously performing migi chudan otoshi uke (right middle press block) and hidari gandan otoshi uke (left lower downward press block). Pull the hands inwards so that the left palm heel rests near the knot of your belt, then step your left foot back 1/2 step then draw the right leg inward until the heels and toes of both feet are touching.

11.   Turn 270 degrees to the left into naihanchi dachi (straddle stance; also known as kiba dachi) while performing migi gandan barai (right downward block) to the right side.

12.  Bring the left foot into shizen hontai (normal natural stance) and perform hidari gandan barai (left downward block) to the left side.

13.  Step forward 90 degrees into juji dachi (cross stance), then shift into migi zenkutsu dachi while performing migi yoko enpai uchi (right sideward elbow strike).

14. Simultaneously shuffle the right foot forward and the left foot forward into migi gyaku nekoashi dachi (right reverse cat stance) while performing manji uke (double block; migi gandan barai and hidari jodan ude uke).

15.  Step forward with the right foot and twist the hips to the left into hidari kokutsu dachi (left back stance) while performing simultaneously migi ura-zuki (right back punch) and hidari gandan barai (left downward block).

This is a block to the rear, and is fully extended as a punch, then retracted such that the right elbow is a little higher than perpendicular to the ground.

20. Bring the left foot in towards the right until the heels touch. Step out 45 degrees to the right into migi juji dachi (right cross stance) with the left hand down in front of the groin while the right hand is still behind the right ear, then shift in to migi kokutsu dachi while simultaneously performing migi gandan barai and hidari ura-zuki. Draw in the right leg until the heels touch.
